Strata was commissioned for the Bonavista Biennale 2020, The Tonic of Wilderness. Curated by Matthew Hills and Pat Gratton. This Saltbox house stands in Duntara, NL. Since the collapse of the fishing industry and resettlement programs many homes in outport communities have been left to the elements. Years and years of layered wallpaper slowly peel away from the walls. Wallpaper patterns for this house were sourced from vacant homes in the Bonavista Peninsula.
